Snow and Pandas

Here you go Auntie Lorrie, snow on your birthday!
There's currently about 2 inches out there!

I'm very glad there wasn't any on mine, or else I wouldn't have been a happy camper! I mean even now.. It's still October!!! I can handle (kind of) snow from December to March.. but not October to March!!! Let's just hope it melts :P

One kind of good thing about it though is that it's really wet snow, perfect for making snowmen!
That might be on the agenda for tomorrow (given that the snow is still there.. although it would be okay if it melted overnight)!

On another note, I made this cake for Jeff for his birthday, which is also today!
A couple months ago he was joking about a story where someone said about being a "meat-eater" that he likes to eat cute animals like panda, "especially the face!" So I made Jeff a panda face! It was yummy cake and fun to decorate!

Guess what I did today....

This is how it started....

And this is what it ended up as...!

You may be asking yourself what's up with the green (it is green) dots/lines on the tops of the buns... well they're not regular buns, they're Meat buns! The green dots mean chicken and red dots on top mean beef inside!!

How bout them apples!

While we were in Quebec we went to a market near our apartment and bought a 25-pound bag of apples!! They're called LOBO. I've never heard of that kind, but they're soooo yummy! The bag only cost $6! I was taking them out to wash etc and I noticed that some of them are HUGE!

Check this out...

MMmmm Thanksgiving!

Here's some pictures of our thanksgiving. We still haven't charged the batteries for our camera yet, so thanks to Sophie for her pictures!

It's mostly food pictures hehe

'The spread'

My Yorkshire pudding(s?) made from scratch
for the first time all by myself (from scratch!)

The table setting, done 100% by Simon..
but with direction from the Kitchen :)

We had Sophie and Jeff (aka. "the neighbours") over for thanksgiving. It was nicer than having allll that food for just Simon and I. And it was nice to have some company over! Gave us a reason to clean the house hehe! Thats all for now, I need to tend to my turkey bones boiling away, before I got to bed!

Goodnight and Happy Thanksgiving!

The start of another week...

Yesterday Simon and I had a nice relaxing day.. although I did feel guilty about not doing any homework. Simon tried to make breakfast for me in bed, but I always wake up when he gets out of bed, so we ate at the table. Simon made crepes and I made peach sauce from my yummy caned peaches!

Here is the inventory of my canning!
We've eaten a lot of the salsa, about 2 jars of tomatoes and 1 of peaches! So far so good!!

In the afternoon we went for a hike in the Gatineau Hills because it was such a nice sunny day. It was cold though, I wore my leather gloves and my winter jacket from BC (which is more of a fall jacket out here!)

I really enjoyed the crisp cold and warm sun!

The leaves are at the peak of their fall colours right now, apparently.
It was pretty, but still lots of green.
A lot of the red/orange leaves are on the ground cause it was so rainy and windy in September.

Now I must go to class then work then work on a project/homework... booooo!
I will put up a picture of my new glasses soon..
Have to charge the batteries for the camera first!

Happy Monday!
