Quiet book: Pages #5 & 6

Done!

I've been working hard to finish up these pages!

One is a zebra with fuzzy stripes and yarn mane and tail.

The other is my favourite. The giraffe with button spots!

Liam tries to grab these pages as I'm working on them. I think he'll like them!

Quiet book: page #4

I started this page the other day. It really didn't take much and was fun to make. I modeled it off a page from a quiet book made by my aunt for my oldest brother when he was a baby. The finger puppets I had bought from ikea a couple years ago and just sewed them on with yarn so they won't get lost.

I should be done 2 more pages in the next little bit. My zebra needs a mane and eyes and my giraffe needs spots and eyes!

Quiet book: page #3

I've been mostly finished this page for a couple weeks now, but was bored of it. I finally added the tail last night so here it is! Now I'm kind of working on 5 pages all at once. I've cut out the felt and sewn the big pieces on. I have to do the hand stitching and all the little extras then I'll be done! That doesn't mean I'm close to having the book completed though!

Actually making things off Pinterest!

I think I have a couple hundred *neat* things pinned on Pinterest and have not really made anything! I did use some ideas for Liam's quiet book, but I looked for those ideas specifically on Pinterest. I have folders of food that I haven't tried yet so I thought I would make some! I was on snack for the Mom's life group I'm in today so I thought I'd test it out there! I couldn't decide on one thing so I made Lemon-Blueberry Yogurt Loaf and Raspberry Cornmeal Crumble Bars.

We had the Raspberry Cornmeal Crumble Bars for dessert last night while they were still warm and they were oooohh so yummy! I changed the recipe a bit: I omitted the almonds cause I'm allergic and just added more cornmeal. They were pretty gooey. I needed a fork and plate to eat them. This may have been because I used frozen raspberries and didn't let them thaw completely. It was so good either way, and I would definetly make them again!

The Lemon-Blueberry Yogurt Loaf was good and I would probably make it again, but I would change things. It was really moist, to the point of soggy, and I was wondering if it was cooked through (which it was). I also used frozen blueberries for this but I thought they were fully thawed so they shouldn't have added too much liquid. There's a cup of yogurt and half a cup of oil in this recipe, so maybe I could cut the oil and use thicker yogurt to have a firmer/dryer loaf. Even though I'm not a bit fan of blueberries I really liked the flavours of this loaf. I do love lemon though!

Liam and I went on a small vacation to visit daddy this weekend! Here's a couple pictures of our trip!

Liam was so good on the plane. He slept for 3 out of the 4 flights!
We had a good time and can't wait until we can start our new adventures together!!

Sitting up

I've been trying to get Liam to sit up on his own. He finally does it!!

Yesterday we went to see a pediatrician about the ridge in Liam's forehead where the two plates of his skull are pushed together. He said its nothing but cosmetic and it should go away. It is much less noticeable than it was before. At the pediatrician the dr asked me all these questions about Liam and I said he couldn't sit up on his own yet. Less than ten minutes later we were visiting grandma at work and what does Liam do!? Sits up on his own!! I guess he was doing what I said he couldn't do, like any good child :p

So here he is sitting unassisted! It doesn't last long, but he does it!

Such a big boy!

Six Months!!

I can't believe it! Liam is officially 6 months old today!! Wow! Where have the last 6 months gone?!
Newborn Liam

Curious big-boy Liam

Now at 6 months he is very curious. He rolls all over the place and is trying to crawl. He doesn't quite understand that to crawl he has to put his arms on the ground and lift his head. As of right now he gets his bum in the air and lifts his arms and plants his face on the floor and wiggles as if he were swimming. Silly boy! I have been placing his toys out of reach to encourage him to crawl, but he just rolls and wiggles and rolls and either gets his toy or finds something better/closer to play with.

Left him in the middle of his room and look where he ended up!
Mmm Food!

He loves to eat. And eat he does! So far he's only on rice cereal, but more and more each time and now twice a day. When I'm home from vacationing (In Victoria right now and going to Regina in 2 weeks) I will start him on some mushed veggies.

5-month Liam and Daddy
The only thing that he does not do that you would hope a 6-month old would do is sleep!! He does okay napping now, but lately I have been up every 1-2 hours at night with him!! It's like he wants to be a newborn again!

Here is Liam at about 2 months sleeping and then at 6 months sleeping!

HAPPY SIX MONTHS LIAM!
