Craft Creations

Hi again!

Now to post what this blog is all about, what I've been doing lately!
Since school and exams are done for the semester and I haven't started my summer job yet I have about 2 weeks of nothing! woo!

I have a list of things I want to get done this summer..
  • plant and tend to my garden
  • sew a dress (all by myself) that I've had fabric for for about a year now
  • catch up on some scrapbooking
  • paint something large to go above our couch as art
  • take the Michael's cake decorating class
  • Crochet a blanket for Simon and I
  • ...
Today I decided to get going on things! I did do some stuff last week, like plant the garden and start crocheting our blanket.

This is a blanket I finished last night... I don't like how it turned out.. it's not that great. It's a baby blanket (not for me!) so it's about 2.5 feet long by 1.5 feet wide. I did start another blanket though! It's taking longer cause its bigger...

It's kinda dark in the picture, but it's purple "grape" and cream. It'll be big enough to cuddle in :) In the picture there's about 20 rows done. I plan on making it 110 rows long... I have my work cut out for me! I generally crochet while watching Rachael Ray every (!) morning and then while Simon's watching playoff hockey...

The Canucks just scored...
For about a week there we were up til about midnight every night watching the sens and the canucks, since there were on opposite nights!

Anyways, this is something I'm kind of proud of: Today I decided to do something... not like last week when I did nothing.. I am starting on the dress I'm making, but I decided that I need a new ironing board cover since our ironing board/cover were found in the basement of Sophie's house when she moved in.. It smelt musty and like old lady and was covered in cat hair! I found an easy tutorial online and followed it! The edges and underside of the cover were okay so I just took off the ugly fabric and replaced it! The only fabric I had to cover the ironing board is the one I used.. I think its cute :P
It's Eskimos in pink and penguins!

You can also see my sewing set-up in the background. Sophie gave me an old table that's cute and small and good for craft-stuff so I've set it up in our "3rd bedroom" (that we don't use) i would like some shelves on the wall behind my sewing machine!

Anyways that's all for today! Need to get back to other things!
Until next time!

  1. Welcome to blogging, Nicole! I think your penguin fabric is cute and might even make ironing more fun - on second thought, nothing can do that!

  2. You have been busy today. I hope you are able to get everything done you would like to before you hit the real world of working.
